Lego Universe. The MMOG
Did you ever wanted to be a Lego in a Lego world? That dream will become true soon with Lego Universe.
The LEGO Group and the game development company NetDevil are now constructing LEGO Universe, a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). LEGO Universe will be a safe and engaging internet experience including all of the building and creativity inherent in LEGO products.
Why do I blog this? The possibilities offered by the MMOG coupled with the pedagogical power of the microworlds such as Lego can provide interesting perspectives for the domain of computer mediated learning. The constructivist ideas of Jean Piaget and Seymour Pappert could soon become trendy again after the logo-phenomenon of the early ages of computers in education.
